INSIDE M2M stands for IoT - and has done so since 2004

Founded in 2004, INSIDE M2M GmbH is one of the pioneering companies in the machine-to-machine communication sector. It all began years earlier with the company's founders, who were already active in the field of mobile data communication at the end of the 1990s. But after just a few years, it became clear that a new, separate company, INSIDE M2M, should be founded to develop the technology of 'smart machines', which was still in its infancy at the time, and make it available to a wide range of customers.

The first few years were mainly used to develop the central software modules. This resulted in the SerialSwitch and INSIDE M2M Gate Solution applications, later M2MGate Network. This decision was to set an important course for the company, because only mobile connections, at that time still mainly via GPRS, make network-independent, worldwide, effective data communication possible. This fact and the very flexible, secure and stable M2MGate Network software soon led to the first companies, some of them operating worldwide, taking an interest in the applications of the medium-sized software development company from Garbsen.

After initial projects in the industrial sector, often for quality assurance and increasing efficiency, for example for the company Hydro Aluminium Alutubes GmbH in Hannover, contact was made with the globally operating Konica Minolta Group at the end of 2006. INSIDE M2M agreed with the market leader in the office machine sector to publish software based on the M2MGate Network at the beginning of 2007, which would make it possible to monitor so-called MFPs (Multifunctional Products), which can be used for printing, faxing and copying. This meant that both technical failures and consumable defects could be reported at an early stage, thereby greatly improving service - a real added value that boosts sales. The project was a great success and ensured that our company could win further major customers.

Since then, INSIDE M2M has grown steadily and has repeatedly realized interesting projects with customers such as Melitta, Liebherr, WMF and Deutsche Bahn. INSIDE M2M GmbH has established itself as one of the leading providers of software and complete solutions in the M2M sector. INSIDE M2M solutions are used in over 50 countries worldwide, with a large number of different mobile phone providers. Over 750,000 machines and systems worldwide are currently equipped with our M2M solutions!

After 20 years, INSIDE M2M has grown from 5 to 50 employees and from one to three locations. With many more opportunities on the horizon, INSIDE M2M has a bright future ahead of it. Today, INSIDE M2M is active in Garbsen (Hannover), Bissendorf (Osnabrück) and Berlin.
